I have been diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. Lately I have been experiencing numbness in my upper two front teeth. My dentist did one of those panoramic x-rays and couldn't find anything wrong. Could this be at all related to ALS?

While on the subject of ALS symptoms, lately I've been clearing my throat a LOT! I should say my windpipe. Not only beverages but saliva, mucous and really fluids of any type. Does ALS paralyze the epiglottis?

Yes, it can.
The numbness could be from biting down at night.
Are you on BiPAP?

Laurie is right- Jaw spasticity can cause teeth clenching. Depending on where you are possibly applying pressure, it could cause anything from numbness to serious pain. Until I started on Tizanidine, I had alternating cheek and jaw pain and numbness= what I thought was a need for a root canal, but ended up being nerve compression from jaw clenching.
