Lowy (nice, Janelle!),
About the V6. My husband has one, and he loves it. It is, however, a second chair. His Permobile is his primary. We just took a three week road trip where he thought he would use only the V6, but it does not accomodate the hip pads that keep his legs from turning out (and subsequently jumping off the foot rests on their own). I wound up getting out his third chair (long story about why we didn't have the newer one), a much older permobile that we bought as a backup, for use in hotel rooms (space)) and because it supports his legs better over long periods of time.
We started without power leg rests and just had them added. They help a lot, but the foot plates are much smaller to accmodate those front wheels turning.
The V6 is great if you are fairly mobile and active. Futher on, however, it may not accept all of the attachments that make other chairs more friendly for PALS.
Here's hoping you don't need anything more "extreme" in the way of attachments for many years to come!
