Thinking of Max & praying for him & Sandy

I had to have a radiologist do mine because of screen mesh from a botched hysterectomy, it can be done, don't give up!

Janie

Janie, the radiology attempt was the RIG that Tillie said failed. When the stomach is displaced (sometimes due to muscle atrophy, sometimes for other reasons), the normal techniques don't work.

Still, I would expect more specialized GI interventional radiology expertise would be available outside any given VA, so a modified RIG (there are several variants) may still be possible elsewhere in Houston, where there are as many specialists as anywhere in the world.

There'll be no news until Tuesday, so keep the positive thoughts rolling.

Hopes and prayers for Max and Sandy and for the eyes and hands of a very skilled surgeon to get the job done well. And soon!

Ditto that! ;^)

Still thinking of you Max, remember no falls that's rule number 1.

anything on max yet

Max,

Stomach's not in the right place Max? Sounds like something you got in the Navy, a carrier can do that to you. As a Coastline I rode a much smaller boat and remember well my stomach being in my throat cruising through a few hurricanes and some North Atlantic storms. Big reason I went into aviation, never got sick flying helicopters.

Hope things are working out for you. Hang tough. You have a big cheering section here rooting you on.

This is my first post on this forum.

My husband his his feeding tube put in Friday. It went well. He is still eating by mouth, but now we are ready for when he can't.

Hello to all.

I just read thru this whole thread and imagining how exhausted Max and Sandy must be! We're pulling hard for both of you. I agree with Laurie, there has to be a very experienced gastro guy in Houston area. Ours was recommended by his ALS Specialist who was outside the VA.

Hello to all.

Hello, Bob's Loving Wife, welcome to the ALS Forums. Sorry to hear about your husband. You were quite wise to have the tube installed before it is needed. --Mike

Hi there Bob's Wife!
You might intro yourself in the Welcome New Members sub forum.

Thank for the info Igelb, I don't know what a rig is, there has to be a way. Mine goes up and over the mesh.
