Hello… My name is John Sherwood and I’m writing a novel entitled, 'Like No Other Time.' It is a story about intimacy and about half way through the principal character is diagnosed with ALS. I am looking for help: one or perhaps two experienced people who would be willing to volunteer to read parts of my draft manuscript that contain symptoms, limitations, and feelings about the diagnosis and progression.
Currently, I have reduced everything to three pages where physical symptoms and limitations are discussed, and I am seeking a review and suggestions. Your reactions to these pages would give us both an idea about what I have in mind… We could correspond by email or phone, or if you're local to the SF Bay Area, perhaps we could meet.
I’m 82, a retired academic (Michigan, Purdue and Harvard) in social psychology, and have written two previous novels, neither was commercial. Reviews are available on Amazon (John J. Sherwood): 'Intimacy: The Magic of Her Presence' and 'Purple Ferry.'
Many thanks for your consideration… john
