I'm sorry that the back surgery didn't help your friend. But it's good that he's got less pain.
Do you know how he got diagnosed? My husband's MRI and xrays didn't show much at the time. (3 years ago) He didn't have any screenings since then.
Would it be possible that nobody noticed anything on those scans?
