I am so frustrated. The mestinon the doc put me on isn't working all that well. I see a minor improvement of symptoms when I take it but nothing amazing. I seem to have developed a nasal quality to my speech which I can feel and is really annoying and people asking me if I'm congested. Of course my doctor prescribed the mess and then left for vacation. She told me to check in with her nurse who proceeded to tell me that mestinon works for their mg patients. Really? All of them? All the time? She also told me that there is no other med out there which isn't true because some people also need to be on steroids since mestinon doesnt control their symptoms. Of course with the. Upcoming thyroid surgery I can't be on steroids. So now I have to see what the next plan is. She wants to do another regular EMG since the last one I had done was a year ago to make sure it is normal and to verify MG. now I'm nervous to do it because I've had 4 normal results and I'm worried this one might come out abnormal. The stress of this all isn't really helping my symptoms, but when I sound nasally and have excess saliva and difficulty swAllowing its hard not to be stressed when the mess aren't really working.
