Joyce and Meg, so glad to see you visiting! I will admit, I'm a coffee drinker...strong and black.
Diane, Phil came over (telecommuting next door today) and instructed my aide on the hoyer lift, how *he* showers me (naked and inside the curtain, lol--he forgot to include that bit) and basically gave her too many instructions for her first day. She isn't savvy about ALS and hadn't used a hoyer in years--most of her patients are ambulatory. I am still baffled by that...this is hospice! Anyway, Phil left, and she showered me with her clothes on from outside the shower. She never remembered to wash my face or feet, and frankly I'm unable to hang onto most thoughts. My hair, which hasn't been trimmed since a year and a half ago, is very long. Her head, however, is shaved. One of us is confused and I know I'm the one.
No spa treatment for today, but on Friday we'll skip the hair wash and see if she clips fingernails. I'm presently in bed, and have learned that I actually can be rolled over with the draw pad and not have pain. Eureka!
Phil has been reading his new Mediterranean cookbooks and since he likes anchovies, thinks I need to develop a taste for them. I may be creating a monster here. We'll see how much time and energy he really wants to commit to food.
