Computer programs just don’t ask the right questions
Today at work we had a “ Know your Numbers” day.
It’s a program where you find out your height, weight, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol numbers, then put them in a computer program, answer about 4 pages of questions and it will spit out a report saying what you can do to improve your life.
It also based on the data works out your health age. Mine came out at 48.6 years (I am 53.2 years old).
So to improve my health I have to
Increase my amount of exercise, loose some weight, (some 20kg) Like I am going to either one of those.
There were no questions like, Do you have a problem or medical condition preventing you from walking or exercising or such questions where you could give an appropriate answer too.
So you see, computers are only as smart as the data you put in. There is a saying that covers it but Al might not approve of it.
Cheers
