Glutathione participates in leukotriene synthesis and is a cofactor for the enzyme glutathione peroxidase.

Glutathione also acts as a hydrophilic molecule that is added to lipophilic toxins and waste in the liver during biotransformation before they can become part of the bile.

Glutathione is needed for the detoxification of methylglyoxal, a toxin produced as a by-product of metabolism.

The detoxification reaction is carried out by the glyoxalase system.

SCAM ALERT: Glutathione is heavily marketed and advertised online as a miracle cure for numerous ailments, conditions and diseases.

Please speak with your doctor before considering taking any Glutathione related drugs. This is NOT a miracle cure despite what you may have read online.

We recommend being weary of those who promote improvements with regards to ALS while taking this drug.
