The Angel Fund, Annual Hoopfest EventMarch 16, 2006
The CYBL (Chelmsford Youth Basketball League) will have its 15th annual Hoopfest, March 18, 2006.
The event will take place at the McCarthy Middle School Gym in Massachusetts with a portion of the proceeds being donated in memory of Steve Scomis of the Angel Fund.
The Angel Fund is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated solely to funding ALS research at the Cecil B. Day Research Center. The fund was created after a local contractor and longtime CYBL coach (Steve Scomis) was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease in May 2003.
Steve passed away less than two years later in April 2005, leaving his wife Kathy and three children.
