American golfers help fight ALSJuly 26, 2006
Inspired by the unfortunate death of Tom Watson's long-time caddy Bruce Edwards who died of ALS, golfers can now support the fight against ALS by purchasing a hotdog at the end of nine holes.
The PGA Tour donates more money to charity than any other professional sport. With golfers having a higher than average income they can now use this extra money to contribute to a good cause by having a hotdog.
If the course you are playing at serves Fairway Franks hotdogs in the Fairway Franks hotday trays you can be assured that figty cents of your purchase will go directly to ALS research.
The concept is simple; a golf course buys the trays at ten cents a piece, and raise the price of their hotdogs by the same value. Then, the Fairway Franks company will donate approximately fifty cents of each dollar of profit to ALS research.
This is a positive endeavour for both golfers, golf courses and ALS patients.
If you are visiting a golf course this summer please be sure to keep your eye out for Fairway Frank hotdogs; take a minute to have a bite to eat and support ALS research.
